Let the fun “Bee”gin!

 

 

     Workshop topics include:

 

 

  • Honeybee Behavior
  •  General Practices of Beekeeping

  • Overview of Information Needed to Start and Care For Your Own Colony


This apiculture course, instructed by our third-generation beekeeper, Louis Tellez, includes hands-on training on a number of important topics related to beekeeping.

Weather Permitting, we will open and examine a colony. (Class Capacity:15)


CAUTION: Please wear light-colored, smooth-textured clothing with long sleeves as dark, textured clothes may aggravate bees. Please refrain from wearing perfume or hair gel and keep jewelry to a minimum.


               Schedule


10:00 am - 12:00 pm   In-Depth Trailer Tour of the Farm including:


  • Pastures

  • Red Meat Abattoir

  • Poultry Abattoir

  • Egg Candling Facility


12:00 pm - 1:00pm   Lunch at our Dining Pavilion

1:00pm - 3:30pm     Workshop Class Time
